Strobist Guide: The wait is almost over..
At long last I’ve finally gotten some of my shots from Anjum’s camera from the wedding shoot. On going through the files, here’s one of my favorites from Thursday night.
The wait is almost over.. by Brian Donegan
This shot was lit on two plains, as is quite easily apparent.
We had one SB-600 in a reflective umbrella lighting the groom while the bride was lit with a second umbrella some distance away. Using a wider aperture and keeping the groom in focus we got the shot above (post a little bit of work on the expressions). The added bonus was the bokeh of the street lights in the background.
Here is the lighting diagram:
What surprised me the most is that I barely had to make any adjustments in Lightroom. All it took was a slight vignette and a small contrast boost. Getting the light right in camera is proving to be powerful stuff.
What would I have changed ?
Looking at the photo now I would have probably added a reflector at the grooms feet to kick some light back upwards towards the bottom of the bouquet.
